Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat has completed the purchase and commissioning of two electric ice resurfacers as part of an on-going effort to find operational cost savings and efficiencies within the organization. A grant program available through the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC) provided $100,000 towards the total investment.

Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat is now consulting with stakeholders and adjusting plans in light of today’s announcement from Special Olympics Canada (SOC) regarding the cancellation of the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games 2022 in Medicine Hat. With a number of challenges emerging due to COVID-19, including the inability to hold regional competitions in 2020 and the potential challenges with competitions into 2021, SOC elected to cancel the Games acknowledging that the typical pathways that qualify athletes for national competition are not possible.
Medicine Hat – Work to improve the safety, traffic flow, and capacity of the Family Leisure Center west parking area is now complete. Remaining landscape work will continue throughout September.
Medicine Hat – In line with the Big Marble Go Centre’s safe relaunch, additional programming will be available beginning Tuesday, September 1, 2020. “We’re excited to be able to offer more opportunities to play badminton, basketball and pickleball and are gearing up to be able to offer more than 30 fitness classes each week,” said James Will, General Manager of Parks & Recreation.
Medicine Hat – Beginning Tuesday, September 1, Medicine Hat Transit (MHT) will be increasing single ride fare to $2. 00 per passenger following a successful return to non-essential travel. Transfers will continue to be unavailable until further notice, as well as the sale and use of MHT tickets.
Medicine Hat – In order to expand recreational opportunities along the South Saskatchewan River, a set of concrete stairs will be constructed at the Strathcona Boat Launch. .
